DANCES OF SIGNIFICANCE
Film Festival Submission Fundraising Campaign
Help us reach our goal of $1825!
As you may know, we have spent the last three years making our first feature-length film DANCES OF SIGNIFICANCE. We are thrilled to share that production and post/production is now complete! Here’s a recap of what it took to get to this point:
$15,000 raised from individual donors
50 cast and crew members
7 Portland- venues
Hundreds of hours planning, filming, directing, and editing the movie
Hundreds more hours in the studio writing, recording, and producing the original soundtrack
Now, we must turn our attention, energy, and innovative spirit towards actually getting the film in front of audiences... To start, we will be premiering DANCES OF SIGNIFICANCE at TOMORROW THEATER, run by Portland Art Museum’s Center for an Untold Tomorrow. The screening will be held on Thursday, August 27th at 7PM. Tickets are on sale now at tomorrowtheater.org/movies/dances-of-significance. We hope you will join us for this huge milestone event!
It is also time to begin submitting the film to festivals!
Being selected by festivals, and possibly winning festival awards, helps an indie film to stand out and gain entry into other screening opportunities. Film festivals are also incredible opportunities for filmmakers to network, share their work in front of a focused audience, and potentially gain a distribution deal. Festival submission fees range from $20 to $150, and this can seriously add up. After doing thorough research, we’ve compiled a list of thirty fantastic film festivals that we would like to submit to, at a total cost of $1,825. We are asking for help raising the necessary funds to apply.
Thank you for your continued support!
